This is a sponsored review from BlogHer and Valspar Paint.
CONGRATS to Belle + Bee winner of the 1st $100 gift card to Lowe's!
If you're joining us for the first time, we're repainting Lucy's room and trying to find the perfect color for her walls. You can see our process here.
This painting project is a FOUR-PART series which means that every Wednesday for the next few weeks I'll be hosting a new GIVEAWAY. I'll show you my paint progress and you can win something big! So make sure you check back next week and the week after that as well.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Okay, thank you bloggy friends for helping me narrow down a paint color. You were all so detailed in your comments and pretty specific about the Valspar paints color you'd use. It was really fun to see what color schemes are on your mind. And some of those same ideas have been floating around in my head too! But since I seem to fall into similar patterns, you also helped think outside of the box as well.
I never tire of looking at colors and creating a new palette. So....here are a few of my favorites, from the colors you chose, using the Valspar Color Tool. Half the time I can't decide if it's really the color I like or the clever name that accompanies it! Wouldn't you like to live in a room called Lime Passion? Mmmmm.
Okay, here are some of my favorites:
TOP BANANA ** ORANGE FRUIT ** LIME PASSION

Use the drop-down menu to select from your personal style: traditional, modern, cottage cottage, craftsman, rustic. Or select by designers.
I made a new discovery, I guess I'm a Traditional/Modern/Vintage type. It's something I've suspected (a mix of a few things) but looking through their gallery of photos helped me confirm that.
So....want to see what's on my mind? Here are photos of inspiration from the Valspar design gallery:

Would you like to win a $100 Gift Card to Lowe's home improvement store?
Then help me again by choosing the perfect Valspar paint color from the colors that other readers have chosen. Leave a comment with your selection and a winner will be chosen at random.
Here are the colors again:
TOP BANANA ** ORANGE FRUIT ** LIME PASSION

* Leave a comment (sharing the perfect color for Lucy's room, from the colors shown above)
* Leave your EMAIL ADDRESS in your comment.
* Only ONE entry per person.
* If you forget something and need to leave a second comment, go back and DELETE your first comment.
* only open to US RESIDENTS, 18 years or older.
* Winner will be picked via random.org and emailed with additional info (winner is totally random and not based on the color choice you provide. Of course, sharing your color helps me narrow down my decision!)
* Giveaway will run for one week and ends WEDNESDAY 6/22/10 at 6pm (Central Time).
I'll be heading to the paint store soon! Something fun is going to transform:

I'd go with icy blue, but top banana is a very very close second.
megan{dot}a{dot}wenger{at}gmail{dot}com
Rainforest, deff. though i really like chimney smoke
misshavoc@hotmail.com
Love the Orange Fruit!
Kelly
bucknerkelly@yahoo.com
icy blue looks very calming!
I still like Icy Blue... with pops of anything....
Are we voting for one color or a set of three??
I like the RAINFOREST MIST ** ICY BLUE ** POOL PARTY set, but out of those (if I had to pick one) I'd go with Rainforest Mist!
amber565(at)gmail.com
PS: you might want to check the end date...it says 6/15/10??
ICY BLUE is my fav. Then adding pops of orange with accents throughout the room.
jcbaron99@gmail.com
Oh Rainforest Mist...definitely!
sarah.d.welch@gmail.com
I'm a fan of icy blue.
Top banana... super fun!
I'm with Kelly...Orange fruit with lime passion. Fun!! (only she could wake up hungry in the middle of the night!)
thehillbillyhousewife@yahoo.com
I can see Pool party, with lots of fun orange details in teh room.
i'd love to see some lime passion with the rainforest mist. funny enough, that's also my requirements for a summer vacation!
Rainforest Mist for sure!
I think Tangy, with a bit of chimney smoke, would be lovely!
mandiesegura@gmail.com
LOVE Rainforest! Though Pool Party is a close second. Good luck choosing! Thanks for the giveaway!
TANGY ** CHIMNEY SMOKE ** ULTRA WHITE
These just seem like colors you already love and won't regret using in your home, plus you can dress them up or keep them mellow for Lucy as she grows.
nessad2000 AT yahoo DOT com
Rainforest Mist! For sure! daniellephillipp@gmail.com. By the way- the end date you put was yesterday!:)
Tangy would be my top choice, but I'd actually pair it with rainforest mist!
Bmcelroy @ tampabay.rr.com
Icy Blue! My house started out neutral five years ago and ever since I have slowly but surely been painting all the rooms blue. It wasn't intentional, I just love the way blue rooms make me feel.
Out of those options, I love rainforest mist. So pretty, and would look great with some ultra white accents! I can't wait to see the end result! :)
jeff.bethany.davis@gmail.com
i like icy blue a lot!
I like Top Banana...I always wanted a yellow and orange room when I was younger!
Love the Top Banana! It would be so bright and cheery for a little girl!
I definitely think Rainforest Mist!
jordanelkins1@gmail.com
I like the icy blue with pops of great color. And I also love Lime Passion.
I like TOP BANANA and ICY BLUE
bc I think they're colors that will be fun for her now but also something she'll like as she grows up :)
kfasone (at) gmail (dot) com
I like Icy Blue
Rainforest Mist! Love it, especially when seeing it in the sample room. So Fun!
trinajonas@gmail.com
We're having a gray, overcast day and the Orange Fruit color is just jumping out at me! So bright and cheerful!
shoestringdiaries (at) gmail.com
I thought the playroom picture was to die for so I would have to say combine lime, tangy, and rainforest from your choices and mix it all up:)
jessicaleeperkins@hotmail.com
Love the rainforest mist! Can't wait to see what you do! Have fun.
kristi_knowles78@yahoo.com
I vote for Pool Party. My daughter has a similar color and everyone loves it. It's unexpected and is so easy to accessorize.
Rainforest is my top choice, then pool party
Rainforest mist is FANTASTIC!
fezzik86 (at) gmail (dot) com
Tangy, baby! Bright and cheery, but sort of gender-neutral. Every girl needs some yellow in her life! ;)
vajasigmon@gmail.com
I'm definitely digging the TOP BANANA ** ORANGE FRUIT ** LIME PASSION set -- painting the walls (or at least most of the wall) Top banana and accenting with the orange and lime. What a fun room! The blue pallet is pretty too, but a little more common.
I have the icy blue in my bedroom and it is so relaxing and comforting.I must recommend it. It's the exact same color but at Wal-Mart it is called peppermint tea. I think you will all be happy with that color!
I LOVE Pool Party! So many colors go with it to add little pops all over the room! If I could paint my girls walls I would use that!
Rainforest Mist combined with white trim and pink accents (both pale and dark)would be perfect! It's actually the color scheme for my sister's wedding. Although, I am loving Top Banana as well. Tough decision...
kricket3603{at}hotmail{dot}com
I think a combo of orange fruit. tangy, and ultra white would be fun. With some lime green accents. :)
Growing up I had a room where each of the 4 walls was a different color and then my bedspread had all of the colors in it. I loved that room!
heidicrawford at gmail dot com
Top banana is my favorite!
I love the combo of top banana, orange fruit, and rainforest mist. How fun would THAT room be?!
I like Chimney Smoke ... it's so neutral you can do anything with fabrics and switch out to your heart's content! elmindredah at yahoo dot com
ORANGE FRUIT FO SHO! Yummy color!!
Defiantly Lime Passion. I think you can do so much with lime to decorate. If i have a girl next her room will defiantly be Lime!
mkchilds@gmail.com
I'd have to go with the Tangy/Chimney Smoke/Ultra White group. If I had to pick one it would be Tangy. And I think a room in those colors would grow well. It would be fun now and could seem grown-up later.
LOVE Rainforest Mist!! Looking forward to seeing what you choose!
Top Banana for sure! But I don't know if it's just because I love the name.
I'm sticking with my first pick - Top Banana all the way!
I also love Chimney Smoke, such an interesting choice for a little girls room, it would really set off any other girly colors.
m(dot)katie(dot)canavan(at)gmail(dot)com
I love the TOP BANANA ** ORANGE FRUIT ** LIME PASSION group, but if I had to pick one it would be Orange Fruit!
sims.whitney@gmail.com
I like top banana and the name is the most fun part.
graciebellasmommy@yahoo.com
from your inspiration rooms, it looks like you love blues and yellows. out of the options above, i'd pick rainforest mist! it would look gorgeous with a lot of white accents. i don't know if i'd do every wall that color though. i also like the idea a fun geometric pattern on the wall although that may be more fun for a playroom than a bedroom.
laurasuman at gmail dot com
Oh, that's a hard one! I love them all! But if I had to choose I would go with the Rainforest Mist or Top Banana.
jensuman at gmail dot com
I say "Tangy" and "Chimney smoke" They are colors she can grow with. This is fun!
jennifertyler@catapulsion.net
top banana sangee1234 at gmail dot com
LOVE rainforest mist- icy blue- pool party! so fun!
superstar5944(at)hotmail.com
I am a fan of Rainforest Mist but it might be too saturated for the look you are going for. I think that you should lighten the Rainforest Mist a bit and then it will be perfect :) Then you can use the more saturated version(s) of that color plus pops of white to complete the look.
I vote for Lime Passion!!!! Beautiful!
orange, banana, lime - sounds like a smoothie. I love the orange but I would pair it with pink. Just my 2 cents. All 3 palettes look very promising.
Top banana. So cheerful and Lucy-like! Sarah
I love the first combo, banana, orange and lime. It would be fabulous for a girls room!
pbackholm at gmail dot com
Rainforest Mist is definitely my favorite based on the inspiration rooms AND on seeing it used in a friend's nursery. The theme was that color as the accent wall and the other three were a shade lighter. All molding and furniture is white and other colors make appearances in bedding and accessories.
kristylsmall@gmail.com
I vote for pool party! It would make a gorgeous room!! And white accents would POP with it!
Jen
jenc at crazysummer dot org
Rain Forest, Tangy, AND orange Fruit would be perfect together after seeing that GENIUS room with the small child's table and the checkered pattern on the walls- LOVE IT, and so creative. However, if only one must be chosen, its got to be Rain Forest- lovely!
joh03045@byui.edu
Rainforest Mist is my choice (it's a shade or two darker than the original color I posted last week)!
lindsayzockoll(at)gmail(dot)com
I love the icy blue, you could do a lot of really cool things with that color!
emilyallphin(at)gmail(dot)com
Ohhhhh, I LOVE the Lime Passion!!! I live in an apartment and can't paint but I am addicted to that web-site now :)
moorekrystle@gmail.com
Tangy all the way. I love bright yellow:)
starglobe44@hotmail.com

Pool Party or Icy Blue. :)
I like rainforest mist.
emilou84037@yahoo.om
Rainforest Mist! Love pool party too!
Top Banana... yum :)
Pool party!! Beautiful color.
Rain Forest Mist! Brilliant color!
Twiceasniceboutique at live dot com
Icy blue with the ultra white.
lbroadstreet@tds.net
rainforest. love the color. Makes me wanna wake up in the morning in a better mood :D
If I'm picking one color, it is most definitely Rainforest Mist. But if I'm picking a trio, then it's TOP BANANA ** ORANGE FRUIT ** LIME PASSION. Can we add RMist to the mix? For me?? :) I love the last blue trio, just not for a little girls room.
rainforest mist!
Pool party is my favorite!
danilykewoah at gmail dot com
rainforest for sure
I really like pool party and rainforest mist. :) emmillee(at)gmail(dot)com
Rainforest Mist with accents of Tangy and Icy Blue!!
nikkisheriff@gmail.com
Icy Blue -- almost any color you then chose for accessories would POP!
seems like you NEED to go with top banana!! because...then you can add in any of the other colors you like as accents, or swap them out when it gets boring! chimney smoke and top banana is all the rage right now. but if that gets boring, icy blue or pool party would look smashing! and in the summer, switch her accents to something citrusy, like orange fruit or lime passion! so top banana is the way to go!
Icy Blue! How lovely.
Tangy!!!
hammyfam3 at gmail dot com
Rainforest mist!
Rainforest mist stands out for me.
mami2jcn at gmail dot com
I vote for icy blue, very soothing color. We painted my daughters room a Laura Ashley color from Lowes called Jade Bath ( mix of g! reen and blue) and I love it! She does too :)
Annie
Rainforest is my fave with icy blue a close second. It would look so fun with orange and banana accents. Okay...now I'm getting hungry.
top banana...
I really like top banana and pool party!!
julie @ littledarlingdesigns.com
I just LOVE pool party. It's so bright and happy and energetic. It'd make me want to jump out of bed. My e-mail is sonyamounts at gmail.com
I'm torn. All three color combinations are so brilliant!
jaysrobyn@gmail.com
I am going to have to stick with my original choices....pool party and orange fruit. you can do wonders with that color!
paulandkristen at gmail dot com
I love Rainforest Mist! I've been wanting to repaint my bedroom and bathroom for a while now, and this is making that itch even stronger! Also I've been in love with painted walls with white trim lately, especially crown molding.
Pool Party!
Pool Party!
Pool Party!
:)
~Kelli @ Smidgens
I'm sorry. I didn't read everyone else's comments; there were just too many! :) I like 3 walls with rainforest mist and the accent wall (the wall with the bed) in orange fruit. It's fun, vibrant, and I think good for a little girl. Tangy would also make a good accent wall.
rhonda_mae at homail dot com
I love rainforest mist!
Top Banana! It's so versitile. gries78@hotmail.com
Rainforest Mist or Icy Blue...either one would be fabulous with some bright accent pillows or curtains in contrasting colors.
jlharcus@yahoo.com
Rainforest Mist! :)
Tangy! It's so fresh but not overpowering. Very cute for a little girl!
Tangy with Chimney Smoke accents.
top banana for the win
Rainforest Mist, it looks so beautiful! cookingfromtheheart83@gmail.com.....
icy blue!
crafts[at]oursideofthemountain[dot]com
Pool Party. Although Rainforest is a close second. Nothing looks as good as a great blue with loads of white trim!
I love the Rainforest Mist! It would be so fun. It would also be easy to add in other different fun color in decorating.
eenlady@aol.com
I loved the lime passion from the beginning but the Icy Blue would allow for all kinds of color pops to happen in the bedding and accessories. I think in the end that's what I'd do and find some fabulous accents in that lime passion color...like a beautiful lamp perhaps :).
I love the "Top Banana!" It's fun to say too!
green_woman21@yahoo.com
I like top banana for the wall color and rainforist mist and pool party for accents! Or cool it down with chiminey smoke and icy blue!
I love lime passion, that would definitely be my pick.
theresavalgardson@gmail.com
First- Lime Passion
Second- Tangy
Love them!
Chelsie Brady
chelsie83@gmail.com

love Top Banana! :)
erepaer01 @ gmail.com
Rainforest mist is my favorite!
rdoran1(at)gmail(dot)com
I like top banana with icy blue accents. So cute!!
I vote for Orange Fruit - so very happy! But I like the Rainforest Mist too.
I'm going to have to go with Rainforest mist. I'm into the blues right now and I still think it's girly.
heatherlw@gmail.com
I love the lime passion! They are all great colors though so whatever you choose will look amazing!
kabutterfield@gmail.com
I LOVE the Rainforest Mist - top pick. I then love the other Pool Party colors. Then the other colors that you picked would make a great accent against this color. Especially the green and orange. You could break up the brightness with blackboard paint (for fun) and then sheet metal for magnets. Did this in my daughters room. I will have to get some of this color for my daughter's room. Love it! Good luck.
icy blue with an accent wall in pool party :D
I agree with Megan Anne I like icy blue, but top banana is a very very close second.
Sarah
diymum@gmail.com
Orange Fruit and Rainforest Mist are my faves. Perfect reflection of the blue sky on a hot summer day here in central tx!
sewingbyhaley(at)gmail(dot)com
I love "Top Banana". It's so versatile! But . . . do you have to pick just 1??? How about swirl it up and make one big, happy, smoothy of a room? Oh the good cheer!
I really love Top Banana, but Rainforest Mist is a close second! Fun colors.
missa.moe@gmail.com
Rain forest mist with ultra white. I think that would look great
jsbrownca@gmail.com
TOP BANANA ** ORANGE FRUIT ** LIME PASSION
Definitely!!!
It's so happy and cheerful, of course it doesn't promote sleep so much but then you can't tell what color the walls are when the lights are out.
pvdela@yahoo.com
top banana and rainforest mist with a splash of lime passion! sounds like dessert!
For a little girl I would definitely pick Rainforest Mist. I would have picked that color when I was younger!!!
jennywarren76@gmail.com
I love Tangy and Top Banana - I had a yellow bedroom growing up and I just love how sunny yellow makes a room.
definitely top banana! it's so summery and fresh! yunhuiyi@yahoo.com
I love that icy blue for walls. But that tangy is a fabulous color too.
Top Banana really is the tops, but I'd use it with rainforest mist & pool party--the yellow & green/blue combo comes up in a lot of your sample photos from Valspar & looks awesome.
I'm torn between the Tangy, Chimney Smoke & Ultra White combination and Icy Blue as a stand alone color. The combo is so fantastic but my bedroom is the Icy Blue and I love it. Either way I'm sure you'll be happy.
I vote for Lime Passion! Good luck, it's SO hard to choose.
craftyNHmom@gmail.com
Pool Party is my favorite but I also really like Rainforest. carolina stamper at g mail dot com.
Tangy, definitely, with pool party accents! Or maybe the other way around...
princessenoire@gmail.com
LOVING the TOP BANANA!!!! Would be so cute w/splashes of hot pinks or turquoise blues. Or simply accented with white. Happy painting!
I vote for Icy Blue!
I love the rainforest mist and top banana.
laurawalker05@gmail.com
I like icy blue if you are painting all the walls one color. It will open up the room. The darker colors (if used alone) will make her room even smaller. I think you should paint the ceiling too, and then accent with brighter colors.
Rainforest Mist!
createanddelegate@gmail.com
I think the Pool Party would look smashing in the room!
eric_danielle at netzero dot com
I love icy blue!
Ooh, Chimney Smoke! Or even better, Chimney Smoke AND Rainforest Mist. I'm sure there's an absolutely perfect fabric out there that would complement both nicely!
Mandi
thehottspottblog@gmail.com
Top Banana is my favorite. It is so cheery and leaves so many options for little girl accessories.
oldika at hotmail dot com
Rainforest mist! I have a dress the same color and i LOVE it.
deborellah@gmail.com
For the short amount of time I knew Lucy, I feel like she screams yellow- so bright and cheery and sweet. I like the tangy-chimney smoke-ultra white for her. I'm excited to see what you go with.
packerlauren@gmail.com
Top Banana, with white accents and splashes of pool party!
I also like icy blue, as a neutralish base, which you can update with new accent colors as Lucy's tastes change.
pollywantscrack(at)hotmail{dot}com
I am thinking Rainforest mist with some top banana accents. Icy Blue is really nice also.
Icy Blue!!
mamalookingup at gmail.com
Tangy! What a beautiful, happy color with a great name!
farrisdeeanna@yahoo.com
I'm a fan of Rainforest Mist.
Yellows seem to be right up your alley, and I love that combo with the chimney smoke. Can't wait to see what you choose.
chels.adams@gmail.com
It has to be Icy Blue!
I like Tangy! You can do so many things with it and so many other colors will coordinate well with it!
cheyennealexander at hotmail dot com
K, after quite the internal struggle I'm going to have to go with Pool Party! Top Banana and Lime Passion are pretty awesome, too. In fact, the whole thing sounds like a grand ol time!
I like Icy Blue, but also a fan of rainforest mist and pool party!
I'm loving the lime passion. I think it is quirky and a little bit off, which would make for a very fun room in your colorful house. Love it. danletia@gmail.com
My pick is top banana and then using the other colors as accents.
Can not wait to see what happens to the room!
Mj
for you i would pick the tangy, chimney smoke, ultra white combo. the yellow on the walls with the grey accent. you can always switch up the accents later when you are bored with that combo. i love fresh paint and new rooms. have fun!
rrrrrrrebecca@yahoo.com
I like icey blue best, but tangy is so different.
Bethatnortoncreek@gmail.com
I would love top banana and smoke together. But for a lively, little girl maybe something a little more vibrant - some of the colors in the blue family with small orange accent? So many choices!
I would choose icy blue for the room, it's such a relaxing color.
sarahee714@gmail.com
Rainforest Mist! It just looks so vibrant, yet cool and refreshing at the same time!
swnowlan@bellsouth.net
icy blue!
I'm thinking you should combine Tangy, Pool Party and Ultra White....mmm, yeah
diriculous@gmail.com
It is such a hard choice. I like the smoke and tangy together though. I think it would look great with her bed. Good luck!
icy blue is my pick... soothing
mrsjpp at yahoo.com
pool party! mkhobson13@gmail.com
Rainforest mist! It's still bright and fun, yet somehow dark enough for a bedroom! I'd hate to put a warm color in there that would just pick up any and all ambient light and keep the room bright at night, sleep is important! Though I love yellow walls! My "office" is similar to Top Banana~
Why not do Icy Blue walls, Top Banana chair, and Pool Party book shelf or bed?...Don't just stop at the walls!
lime passion for sure! it would be so adorable in Lucy's room! (my second choice is pool party.)
tangy all the way! ( i love that yellow, gray, white combo so so much!)
Icy blue. I think a bedroom should be relaxing. That one looks calm.
Rainforest mist, pool party second.
emmy
emmy@gmail.com
Icy Blue all the way!
tavsmummy at cableone.net
I would go for Orange Fruit & Pool Party. Orange and blue are complimentary colors and will look fabulous together...plus I think by using two colors you'll keep the room from getting over wild and keeping the longevity of the room for Lucy as she grows. I'd probably paint two walls Orange Fruit and Two Pool party, however you could stripe the walls which would be awesome too, just a lot of work.
Good Luck!
joshuasprincess(at)gmail(dot)com
Orange Fruit with Pool Party accents. Lovely!
I like Orange Fruit and Rainforest Mist... I actually think they go together nicely. One could be an accent color!
thelittlestmonster@yahoo.com
Orange fruit, orange fruit! I'm trying to decide about my baby girl's room color too, so thanks for the tips on the online tools. I had an orange room in my old house and it was delightfully happy.
I love Pool Party! So bright and fun, but it can also go mod or retro or whatever she is into once she is older!
jmgallo831(at)yahoo(dot)com
I like rainforest mist. Tangy would also be cute w/ pops of orange throughout the room.
I love the Rainforest Mist, Icy Blue, and Pool Party!! Great Colors
my vote is pool party or orange fruit!
kaceykendrickwagner {at} gmail.com
Ooooh Lime Passion! I love it! Abby.Campbell@hotmail.com
I love orange fruit, second place goes to rainforest mist. They are all very cute though.
Alexa.Shelton at gmail . com
I love orange fruit! (Rainforest mist is awesome too).
Top banana - yellow is always so happy!
Love rainforest mist!
bland_brittany at yahoo dot com
I love Top Banana (2nd place for me is Rainforest Mist). Good luck choosing! The good news is that paint is cheap and easy so you can always fix it if you don't end up loving it.
shaunalewallen at yahoo dot com
Banana yellow! It will be easy to match up an accent color! Lovely.
i vote "orange fruit" but you can't lose, those are some great colors to choose from!
blessings,
shana
I love Orange fruit, but I also like rainforest mist.
